Five Guys Cheltenham
If you're wandering around The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham and your nose catches the scent of sizzling beef and salty fries, chances are it’s coming from Five Guys Cheltenham-an American-style burger joint that doesn’t play games when it comes to customization, quality, or calories (let’s be honest, that’s half the charm).
Tucked inside Unit 12a on Henrietta Street, this branch of the cult-favorite chain brings the full Five Guys experience to Gloucestershire: red-and-white tile interiors, open kitchens, retro vibes, and a build-your-own-burger setup that turns even indecisive eaters into gourmet architects.
Let’s talk about what really matters here-the burgers. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the classic Hamburger or you're the type who leans toward the Little Bacon Cheeseburger for something a tad less intimidating (but just as indulgent), you're in the right place. The patties are hand-formed and juicy, the bacon is crispy, and the cheese? Melted to perfection. You can load it up with as many toppings as you like-everything from jalapeños to grilled mushrooms to the unexpected twist: banana slices. Yes, you read that right. At Five Guys Cheltenham, you can go bananas with your burger (literally) if that’s your thing.
Now, if you haven’t had their fries, you haven’t really had Five Guys. The Five Guys Medium Fries are the kind of side order that laughs in the face of “medium”-they’re hand-cut, skin-on, and cooked in peanut oil until they reach golden, crispy bliss. If you like things spicy, opt for the Cajun version and prepare for a flavorful punch that doesn’t hold back.
Wash it all down with one of their legendary milkshakes. The Chocolate and Salted Caramel Milkshake is easily a fan favorite-it’s thick, rich, and just salty enough to balance the sweet. You can mix and match flavours endlessly, or go wild and throw in bacon or Oreo crumbs. No judgment here. For something lighter, a Brooklyn Lager does the trick-malty, crisp, and perfect with fries in hand.
One thing that keeps regulars coming back to Five Guys Cheltenham is the transparency. You see your food being made, you know exactly what’s going in it, and it all happens right in front of you. The open kitchen setup adds a kind of theatre to the burger-building process, which feels way more personal than a number being called at a counter.
The location is also a plus. Being smack in the middle of The Brewery Quarter means you’re surrounded by shops, bars, and a cinema-making Five Guys a great pre-movie stop or post-shopping treat. Whether you're dining solo or out with friends, the casual vibe fits just about any plan.
Accessibility’s covered, too. The restaurant features wheelchair-accessible seating and entrance, so it's a space that welcomes everyone. And if you’re in a rush or prefer your burgers at home, their takeaway service is smooth and reliable.
One quick tip? Go hungry. Five Guys doesn’t do dainty portions. The servings are generous-some would say intentionally overwhelming-and if you’re not prepared, that second milkshake might just take you down.
From its fully customizable burgers and indulgent shakes to the fast-paced yet friendly vibe, Five Guys Cheltenham hits the spot for anyone craving American-style comfort food with a side of personality. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned Five Guys addict, this Cheltenham outpost delivers the kind of meal that feels both familiar and customizable enough to make it your own.
Reviews
I am writing this review solely just for Eliza & Adam. They are absolutely fantastic workers!! I use a wheelchair and Eliza could not help me enough, she helped find me a suitable table that would work with my wheelchair & when the food was ready she brought it down to the table for me. Thanks Eliza
I have never visited this place before I did once together with my friend to try different fast food. There are gossips about the high price of food here, so sometimes it keeps away the potential lower-class customers. However, Five Guys changed my honest opinion on fast food and it proved that high quality fast food eventually exists! I had plenty of chips with burrito and shake. It was really tasty and filling. Unlike majority of other fast food establishments, this place is predominantly clean and welcoming. It feels pleasant inside, although, I would recommend to add few extra attributes to the interior in order to maximize atmospheric effect. Also, good advantage of having an opportunity to eat your food outside the building in there area with well treated tables. It was surprising, but very ecstatic when I got offered free peanuts! It totally captured my heart and made me always attracted to wish to visit the place once more and more! Noting unusual about service.
This is a very mixed review. Takeaway/delivery…. Never again. As you can see it came completely squished. The fries were overdone and for a £60 order I opened the bag and was hugely regretful for ordering it. However the burger was pretty tasty, I would definitely venture in to a five guys to have one again but I will never order a delivery again. I wouldn’t even blame the driver as it looked like it was stacked in the bag that way. The fries were not nice!
Popped in here after having a rubbish experience round the corner at Son Of Steak. We were served by a lady called Alice who was very polite and cheerful, an excellent representative of the establishment - give that girl a raise! The food isn't flashy but it isn't meant to be, it is just really great tasting fast food. The burgers were great and the peanut butter milkshake was fantastic. The place was really really clean which is unusual for most fast food places. Would definitely go again, the friendly staff are fantastic, thanks guys!
Excellent all around experience. Loved the fries & there are lots of them (!). Good service although atmosphere is a little sterile.
